Candy bar

On Friday, October 4th, Bedford Middle School will begin its annual Gardners candy sale, which is our only fundraiser of the year.  Since the proceeds from this fundraiser are used to offset the costs of field trips, socials, and assembly programs, we encourage all BMS students to participate, although participation is not mandatory.  Each Gardners Peanut Butter Meltaway candy bar costs $2, and there are 48 candy bars per box.

Candy Bar Distribution:

  • October 4th -  At the end of the day, each student choosing to sell candy bars will be given one box of 48 bars on credit.  We will begin collecting money during first period on Monday, October 7th.

  • Coupons from our local Burger King will be given to students along with the boxes of candy bars, and students must place one coupon on each chocolate bar.

  • November 1st - Last day to submit candy sale money.

When a student accepts a box of candy, it becomes his or her responsibility to turn in $96 or the amount of unsold bars with money that totals $96 by the end of the fundraiser, which is November 1st. Checks may be made payable to Bedford Middle School.  Please note: we currently do not know the costs of the field trips.

Donations:

  • For those interested in donating money instead of selling candy bars, there are two options:

-  Option #1: donate $48, which is equivalent to the profit we make from a box of candy.

-  Option #2: donate $96, which is the profit made from selling two boxes.

Donations will be accepted from October 7th - November 1st and should be turned in during first period while candy bar money is being collected by teachers.

Prizes for Selling Candy or Donating:

  • Sell ONE box of candy or donate $48  =  Bedford T-shirt + half off grade-level field trip

  • Sell TWO boxes of candy or donate $96  =  Bedford T-shirt + fully paid grade-level field trip

  • As an added incentive, if we meet the goal of selling 450 total boxes as a school, we will bring in an ice cream truck for everyone to enjoy during a day in the spring.

Random drawings for prizes will be held periodically during lunch for students who have turned in their candy sale money or submitted a donation. If you have any questions, please call Miss Lingenfelter, Mrs. Felix, or Mrs. Simmers at (814) 623-4200.

Thank you for your help with our annual fundraiser!
